CASA MELAZA RUM BOUTIQUE
We're a unique gift boutique with tasting room in the heart of Old San Juan in Puerto Rico, the rum capital of the world. Our location is the "Casa del Cabildo", a house that once acted as the City Hall from the 1600's until the early 1800's (17th century until the early 19th century). Since Old San Juan is a 500 year old town, making it the oldest city in the US, it provides breathtaking views and scenery.
We offer 100% local & original gifts and souvenirs to enhance a memorable visit to the Island.
We do rum tastings every day for individuals or groups, and you can try them individually or by our different flights. During the tastings we go into the history of the rums of Puerto Rico and the families that produce it, also the difference and process of making the rums.Come in as a customer, but after this you'll come out as a Rum Ambassador of Rums of Puerto Rico.
Enjoy the best rum the Island can provide. Take it home as a gift, as a token of gratitute for a co-worker, or just for you to indulge when you get back home. Also, bring back real coffee, sangrias or maybe even a unique T-Shirt.
We know the feeling of finding a unique gift or souvenir that you'll want to show off back home. That's our goal!
Casa Melaza is a unique rum boutique that offers local rums plus other Puerto Rican products. Since its owners are especially trained with people that guard secret rum recipes, and its strategic location in the Rum Capital of the World, we feel very confident that you'll find what you're looking for here in Casa Melaza Rum Boutique!
We also provide an array of brands of the favorite local rums so you can have your own tasting party.
On top of that, in Casa Melaza Rum Boutique we offer over 5 local beers, local coffee brands (the local coffee was once revered as the official coffee of The Vatican City), and even arts and crafts.
Just stop by when visiting the Island or just surf our website. Enjoy!!!
Since we're located in the heart of the Old City, it's easy to offer this tour. Before walking we'll get started with the history of Puerto Rico, that way you'll understand the background of all the historical buildings that you'll visit, like San Felipe del Morro, the San Juan Cathedral and the Capilla del Cristo.
All of our tour guides are goverment licensed and federal approved. We'll make several stops to make the tour more comfortable. Be ready to walk, dress comfortably with light clothes, shoes and hats if possible. Water is included with your tour.
